How long this takes to build

Order of operations — what to build first

If you're starting from zero, build them in this order. Each flow compounds on the previous one:

  • Day 1: 01 Welcome, 03 Abandoned Cart, 05 Order Confirmation. Highest revenue impact.
  • Day 2: 06 Shipping, 07 Delivery, 09 Review. Closes the post-purchase loop.
  • Day 3: 10 Cross-Sell, 11 VIP, 12 Referral. Compounds repeat purchase.
  • Week 2: 13–15 Re-engagement, 19–20 Operations.
  • Campaign-based: 02, 04, 08, 16, 17, 18 — build as needed when you have a campaign or product launch coming.

Common mistakes

  • Building all 20 before testing any of them. Build one, watch it run for 100 contacts, fix it, then move to the next.
  • Stacking too many tags. Tags multiply complexity. Use them surgically; lean on custom fields instead where possible.
  • Forgetting the END node. Workflows without a clean exit produce zombie enrollments. Always exit explicitly.
  • Not setting Stop on Reply / Stop on Conversion. Customers who already bought should not get the "hey, finish your purchase" SMS the next morning.
  • Ignoring quiet hours. SMS at 11pm = unsubscribes. Set quiet hours globally in workflow settings.
